After an extensive search, it was announced two weeks ago that Dr. Megan Brown would become the next head softball coach at Longwood University. Brown was a former assistant coach at big-time schools Boston College, the University of California and Auburn, as well as an All-American during her playing days at Florida Southern. Riley can now look back on a legacy that saw 812 career wins, five Big South Conference titles and seven trips to the NCAA tournament. Has anyone ever thought about seeing the world? Going to different countries, seeing new things, learning more about the big, blue marble we all live on, it all sounds grand. At Longwood University, we have been connected with great study abroad programs that can help us make this a reality. The question is, why? Why go to study abroad when we could stay in the comfort of our own home and see the world through our computer? Why study abroad?

Stephen King has written and published 63 novels and is renowned for his work in horror. Some of his most famous works are The Shining, The Stand, Misery and Pet Sematary. However, there is one piece that has stood out among many others and has even become the second best-selling novel written by Stephen King and that novel is IT. IT has become one of the hottest horror movies in the last decade and if anyone out there is a movie fan, then they have probably heard the question, “Which is better, the original or the remake?” The reason this particular film stands out is because of the profits it made and the attention the movie gained. Both the original and the remake made almost double every other iconic horror movie including Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th and Chucky. The question is now, “Which film is better, the classic 1990s IT or the new 2017 IT?”

If no other animated film is released this year, that means that the best animated film of 2020 will likely be “The Willoughbys”, a quirky, stylized animated adventure with as hard of an edge as a family animated adventure can have. That isn’t a slight though, as it is a worthy recipient of such praise.

It’s hard to be excited for a sequel film, let alone one from Dreamworks. Sure, they’ve turned out hits like “Shrek 2”, “How To Train Your Dragon 2”, and “Kung Fu Panda 2”. But it’s difficult to justify a sequel to a film as hyperactive and peppy to a fault as 2016’s “Trolls” beyond just making more money.

We have used text, Zoom, Panopto Recordings, Slack, group calls, and even live videos to stay in touch with all of our friends at a distance. One group recently went above and beyond and performed an event one hundred percent virtual. The Jewish Culture Club, otherwise known as JCC, performed its first-ever virtual Chocolate Seder.
