“Just getting to know people. You never really know who you’ll meet. I’ll never forget my first year here; there was a girl sitting over by the pizza bar when we had one and she was in tears. I went over to her to see what was wrong. I asked her if she was home sick, which that was why she was crying. So I sat there and talked to her and told some of my corny jokes and we laughed. Then the next day she came back in and we talked again and ever since that day I just wanted to make people feel good because a lot of these students here are a long way from home and I understand that because I've been away from home too. And for some to show that they care and just want to comfort you and just want to make you feel good, which in return makes me feel good. I also enjoy getting to know everyone too. I’ve been working here for eight years. I’ve watched two full classes graduate from Longwood. I’ve meet a lot of good people here. I really enjoyed coming to work and just talking to people and getting to know them. I’m just glad I’m able to make people feel welcomed here and have an impact on people in a positive way. I enjoy my job but i also enjoy all of you guys too. Some days i’ll come to work in a bad mood and people will stop by and say hi and also tell me to feel better, and that makes my day a little better because it shows me that people do care,” said Brown.

There is a lot riding on this. While one could give a convincing argument that Marvel could continue on indefinitely, it would say a lot if “Infinity War” flopped. After all, it’s arguably one of the most ambitious films ever made, and it’s certainly Marvel’s most ambitious. With the Russo brothers directing their third film for the comic studio and turning out a massive flick with one of the biggest character rosters and budgets in history, when the dust settles, is “Infinity War” on top?

J. Cole has to be one of the most interesting hip-hop artists in today’s era. While having a really passionate fan base, he also has people who just hate his music. People refer to his music as “boring” and say it has little to no replay value. For example, most critics say “4 Your Eyes Only” had subpar production and lyrics.

I transferred to Longwood in the Fall of 2016 as an incoming junior without knowing a single person at the university. I decided to get involved in The Rotunda to develop my graphic design skills, strengthen my resume and meet new people. I wanted to dedicate my time to something in hopes of preparing for life after graduation, however, I was blessed with much more than that. I have met some of the best people to ever enter my life and I never would’ve expected that only being at Longwood for two short years. Being a part of the layout section of the magazine has helped me grow so much as a designer. I was able to help redesign the newspaper into a news-source magazine and that has been one of my most satisfying accomplishments design related. Being able to work on layout for the magazine each week has been something I have looked forward to on a regular basis. Layout design is what I love the most in graphic design, so being a part of the layout section has been a perfect fit for me. I am thankful I found The Rotunda when I transferred because without it my time at Longwood University would not have been the best it has turned out to be.

Of my 142 Rotunda bylines, only two use the word, “I.” As an individual, I am not important and plan to stay that way. Instead, the spotlight should shine on this incredible community that I’ve had the pleasure to serve for the past four years. Through the good, the bad and the bizarre – clown sightings or #StopReplyAll, anyone? – this community remains my first and only choice for an education and a family.

Throughout my three years in The Rotunda, I have changed so much. Though I joined The Rotunda knowing I did not want to write or be a journalist, I found the perfect place for me.

"Throughout my three years on The Rotunda, I meet so many different people with such unique personalities, opinions and backgrounds. Everyone taught me so much, not only about journalism, but event planning and social media. I will miss everyone so much! It's already weird not being at the meetings. I wish everyone the best and cannot wait to see where they take this organization! P.S. although there were only two PR concentrations in the room each meeting we rocked the whole room!"
