During the Tues., Sept. 29 meeting for the Student Government Association (SGA), the campus master plan was discussed. A video has been released detailing the campus master plan. The video, entitled Vision 2020, laid out all the changes that are planned over the next decade. The video can be accessed at http://www.longwood.edu/physicalplant/MasterPlanMoviePage.html#. The SGA watched the video during the meeting, and discussed the video afterwards. Questions about where all the new buildings will be located were raised. SGA President Cameron Patterson explained that the lot located between the baseball fields and the Communication Studies and Theatre Arts Center (CSTAC)will be renovated. The residential students will be assigned to park in Lancer Park, which has room for about 1,500 more parking spaces.
Longwood also owns lots of property in the neighborhoods around the campus. Although Patterson assured that Longwood would not be forcing out any families, the university will work on purchasing lots as they become vacant. The video gives a lot of information about the expected additions and renovations.
