Longwood University put itself on the political map by hosting the vice presidential debate before the 2016 presidential election. However, that is not the only political activity on campus. There clubs for both Democrats and Republicans at Longwood, along with other political organizations like the Hispanic Latino Association.

Longwood Director of Athletics Troy Austin officially named Kathy Riley as the special adviser to director of athletics on Wednesday, Feb. 7. Riley was appointed to the position in December 2017, but was not publicly recognized until earlier this month.

On Feb. 14 in Parkland, Florida, a mass shooting occurred at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. As a result of the shooting, seventeen people were killed and fifteen others were taken to the hospital for injuries.

With the character’s introduction and importance to the story of “Captain America: Civil War”, many fans were left equal parts concerned and excited for what the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) could hold for T’Challa, the Black Panther. Now, director Ryan Coogler (“Fruitvale Station”, “Creed”) and co-writer Joe Robert Cole (“American Crime Story”) have brought T’Challa back to the nation of Wakanda and delivered one of the most visually striking and nuanced films the genre has ever seen.

In Farmville, there are six buses a passenger can choose from and each bus has a different route. Some of the latest changes to Longwood University are not in the physical construction of the campus, but the new potential courses that are being made available to students. The Brock Experiences program was started in 2016 as a way of making traveling courses that will take trips all over the United States, as well as one that will bring students to the Arctic Circle.
