After getting hit by a car and getting extensive rehabilitation in Los Angeles, Stephen Marion began reflecting and decided to move back to his hometown, Farmville. Marion grew up in Farmville and graduated from Prince Edward County High School in 1999, then attended Bard College in New York.

The Houston based artist known as Solange, or Beyoncé’s younger sister, didn’t breakout until her 2016 album, “A Seat at the Table.” The album received a lot of praise and put Solange on the map as an artist to watch. Now she’s releasing her third studio album, “When I Get Home,” with some interesting features, such as Playboi Carti and Gucci Mane.

The spring season is now in full swing for the Longwood men’s golf team, with the squad coming off a third-place finish at the Lonnie Barton Invitational in Florida on March 5 and a sixth-place finish at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate in North Carolina on March 10. These finishes come about despite missing days due to weather.

Hot off the heels of “Infinity War,” here comes “Captain Marvel,” an origin story focusing on Carol Danvers and the hero she becomes. A prequel to, essentially, the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe and Marvel’s first female lead film, a lot is riding on this glowing, alien hero.

Over 30 students gathered with signs outside of Lankford Student Union on Thursday, Feb. 28 protesting recent events regarding campus including the incident involving the Longwood Village and communication to students. Many of the signs were quotes from the recent Student Government Association (SGA) town hall, including “what if someone had died,” “where was our email” and “a threat to one is a threat to all.”

In this week’s Student Government Association (SGA) meeting, Honors Faculty Scholar Dr. Justin Ellis and Campaign Leader Hannah Pinchefsky discussed Kick The Straw, a campaign looking to reduce plastic waste around campus. The campaign is looking for 1,000 pledges to refrain from using plastic straws for 30 days.

Wesley Hasdell pleaded not guilty to the 2015 murder of stepdaughter and Longwood student Angelica “A.J.” Hadsell. Hadsell pleaded not guilty to the murder of his stepdaughter and dumping of her body on Tuesday, Feb. 26 in court.
