In the final Student Government Association (SGA) meeting of the semester, the 2021-22 senate was sworn in.
In Special Orders of the Day, Vice President Payten Bovat and Senator Claire Lesman read a statement they have been working on about citizen leadership titled, “A Citizen Leader’s Pledge.” This statement will be shared with the student body at a later date.
Also in Special Orders of the Day, former President Brandon Bowen swore in the incoming SGA President Anne Patterson. She will now assume the responsibilities of her role effective immediately.
The senate then nominated, elected and swore in Sarah Spitler to serve as Executive Senator. The new executive officers nominated, elected and swore in Natalya Lucas to serve as Executive Senator for Senate Relations. Both students will assume the responsibilities of their roles effective immediately.
In New Business, the rest of senate was sworn in to assume their roles for the 2021-2022 academic year.
In Announcements, President Patterson said that the dining hall will be hosting breakfast for dinner on April 27 from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
In the Historian’s Report, Historian Bender and the senate approved a new club, the minority investment club. The club can now begin holding meetings effective immediately.
