In this week’s virtual Student Government Association (SGA) meeting, the Senate brought in Bettie Mitchell from the Financial Aid office to discuss changes.

Mitchell said that the FAFSA priority deadline for Longwood aid is Monday, March 1, and that students should file as soon as possible. Returning Longwood students will receive their financial aid packages in mid-May.

Students who have questions can go to the Financial Aid office located in Brock Hall between 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. or can email finaid@longwood.edu.

In Announcements, Junior Class President Sarah Spitler said that the SGA publicity committee will be handing out stickers and beanies in front of the library on Wednesday, March 3 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

In the Treasurer’s Report, Claire Lesman announced that there will not be a Student Finance Committee (SFC) meeting this week. She also added one more budget information session for the semester, which will be held on Thursday, Feb. 25 at 1 p.m. on Zoom. Organizations interested in attending must register on Lancer Link prior to the event.

The next SGA meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 2 at 3:45 p.m. on Zoom.
