In this week’s Student Government Association (SGA) meeting, the newly elected officers ran the last meeting for the 2019-2020 academic year.
In New Business, two students were sworn into office. SGA President Brandon Bowen officiated the proceedings as Senator Joy Luna and Honor Student Association (HSA) Representative Midge Costello took the oath.
The students will now assume their roles after being sworn in and will begin their positions effective immediately.
In Open Forum, Dr. Tim Pierson confirmed that the meal plan refund is included in the checks the university is sending out, and bonus dollars will roll over to the next academic year. Seniors with meal plans will get reimbursed for unused bonus dollars.
In the Fiscal Technician’s Report with Trish McGregor, it was announced that all reimbursement requests are due by the end of May.
In the President’s Report, Brandon Bowen announced that if any student has a question, they can reach out to him and he will be happy to help.
In the Historian’s Report with Cole Pillow, it was announced that the last day to register for pass/fail and do add/drop is Friday, April 24.
The next SGA meeting will be held at the start of the 2020-2021 academic year inside of the Wilson Chamber at the Upchurch University Center.
