SFC Report: December 5

Lancer Productions, National Pan-Hellenic Council, Global Leaders, Student Diversity and Inclusion Council and Longwood Company of Belly Dance made a request under the Educational Programming Appropriations Act (EPAA), which is for educational programming when three or more student organizations collaborate.

Funds are to bring Step Afrika!, a dance group dedicated to the art of African-American stepping, to Longwood for an event on March 27.

Discussion began with funds at an amount of zero dollars, due to the discussion being tabled from a previous week. Funds then were set at $7,279.64.

President Haleigh Pannell moved to make a friendly amendment to the line one item "Standard College Event Fee" from $6,500 to $4,000, which was accepted.

She also noted that since the request falls under the EPAA, that SGA would not be able to fund the line two through four items, which dealt with hotel rooms, meals and hospitality for the performers. The total funds were now set at $4,000.

Senior class president Emma Giambalvo suggested Lancer Productions use money from their agency account to assist in paying for the line items the EPAA does not cover.

After more disscussion, Pannell made a friendly amendment to increase the line one item to $5,000, due to SFC not currently spending any funds out of their allocated EPAA fund of $10,000 per semester. The amendement was declined, but made unfriendly by Pannell.

The motion was voted on, and then failed.

Pannell then made a friendly amendment to change the line one item to $4,500.

The amendment was passed, making the final allocation $4,500.
