Reese's Puffs and SportsCenter greeted Thomas Welker '13 the morning of one of his first days at home. He had completely committing himself to the business of collectible sneakers.
"I found that my greatest successes came from when I jumped out that cliff and I’d be like falling down and being you need to figure out like if you are going to hit this rock or you’re going to hit the water," said Welker.
An entrepreneurial spirit can manifest itself in lots of forms. Whether it's a new business or big event, building most anything is stressful, but the result can be life changing for everyone involved.
For former Peace Corp volunteer James Barbour '05, the spirit appeared as he passionately pursued a project on the tiny island of Tonga that managed to make a huge splash.
To fundraise for his organization's school programs, he used the wealth of the yachties - or sailing enthusiasts - to better the lives of the members of his community.
"There is no power (on the island), there is no anything and we threw a party for about 500 people and you can go on YouTube and see videos. It was just astonishing," said Barbour.
