Week-by-week, our student news organization aims not only to provide our readers with professional content but also to hold our staff to professional standards.
In journalism, deadlines matter.
In our newsroom, as one of the few students news organizations in Virginia that doesn't pay anyone on our staff, we rely on each other to do their jobs for the sake of "getting it right."
If one domino falls, we all fall.
But also, as college students, we're still allowed to have a little fun within our student organization. Therefore, we recognized discipline was necessary for those who tried to turn in tardy articles or photos, and retribution was needed for those who were delayed.
In our time, social media and image is a big deal. Each Sunday, I will post The Rotunda's "Wall of Shame," a post with one photo of each staff member who missed deadline.
Life has consequences, and once we're out of college, missing a deadline equates to losing the job. Here at The Rotunda, we just dig up an old Facebook photo.
Here's the list for Sept. 3-9:
Miriam Loya, A&E Editor

Annie Polek, Photo Editor

Eva Wittkoski, Photo Staff

Until next week, signing off.
