DVDs Out this Week: From Stomach Demons to Housewife Crises to Pirate Hijacking to Forbidden Love, and Everything in Between.

“Bad Milo” - When main character Duncan can’t stand the pressure from his wife, in-laws, bosses, parents, neighbors and basically everyone else on earth, he de-stresses in a very uncommon way. The insane amounts of stress and pressure he’s under lead to unbearable stomach cramps, which, in turn, lead to a surprise demon popping out of his stomach. While this demon could be considered cute and funny at sometimes, his real mission is to destroy everything that causes Duncan stress. This movie doesn’t just offer a creative explanation for stomach cramps, it also keeps viewers entertained with a hilarious plotline with the occasional terror-filled scene. (Patrick Warburton, Gillian Jacobs, Peter Stormare, Ken Marino)

“Blue Jasmine” - When a pampered New York City housewife has to go from living a lavishly expensive life in a penthouse to a crowded townhouse in San Francisco with her sister, you know that hell is going to break loose. Suddenly, Jasmine is forced to leave her husband and learn to live a new life, one that’s lonely, poor and not exactly lavish. Through this drama though, she is able to rekindle a relationship with her baby sister, and finally figure out who she really is and what she truly desires in life. (Cate Blanchett, Alec Baldwin, Sally Hawkins)

“Captain Phillips” - Based on a true story, Tom Hanks as captain Richard Phillips takes viewers on a historical cargo ship journey around the bottom of Africa. For the first time in two hundred years, the ship is unexpectedly overcome and taken hostage by a dangerous group of Somali pirates. Viewers will be glued to their seats as the drama unfolds and the United States Navy goes to desperate measures in order to save the ship and its crew. (Tom Hanks, Catherine Keener, Max Martini, Chris Mulkey)

“Charlie Countryman” - Charlie’s trip to Europe doesn’t exactly start out well so he didn’t think for a second that he might fall in love with the woman of his dreams. Fate is fate though, and there was no stopping it. But this bilingual romance isn’t as simple as it seems. The woman who has his heart, Gabi, never really got out of her marriage; in fact, her ex, Nigel, follows her almost everywhere. When he hears of Charlie and Gabi’s newfound relationship, all hell breaks loose. Charlie is attacked on countless occasions and almost beaten to death by Nigel and his friends, but is it all worth it to prove his love for Gabi? (Shia LaBeouf, Rupert Grint, Evan Rachel Wood)
