Let the Games Begin with Lancer Productions' Bongo Ball

Rules of the game: don’t get hit.

On Friday, Sept. 27, Lancer Productions held the best thing next to Humans vs. Zombies: Bongo Ball. Eight players were allowed on the course at a time with four people per team.

Each player was given a air soft gun at the start of the game and they needed to gather the Nerf balls scattered across the area for ammunition.

If a player was hit, or their gun was hit by a Nerf ball, then they were out. The game was held behind Lankford Student Union and it was available for all students at no charge until midnight that night.

The players chose their own teams. The game first came about earlier in the previous spring semester when it was first held in February.

Jeffrey Reason, director of Late Night Programming, was in charge of running the event, however he gives credit to the other students that helped out.

“This event also would not have been possible without the help of Troy Reeves, Jessica Hamilton, Joseph Achesinski and Sherrale Lamb,” said Reason.

Music was played throughout the event, and students could be seen hanging out and listening to the music and playing around near the course. An approximated 90 students came out to attend and play the event.

“I was very pleased with the turnout for the event, and I was happy to hear all the positive feedback that the participants gave me,” said Reason.

He continued, “I had a great team of people helping me, the weather was nice, the guys who set up the game were very friendly and this was an all-around great event.”

Lancer Productions meets every Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the Amelia Room of the Student Union and is open to all students.
