Back to School Bingo Night Spins into Success

Lancer Productions' Back to School Bingo took place in Blackwell on Friday, Aug. 30 and played host to over 170 people. Jeffrey Reason, director of Late Night Programming, organized and ran the event with Director of Spirit Natalie Joseph. Also helping out with the event was Katie Vaughn, James Bardin, Troy Reeves, Joseph Achesinski and Jessica Hamilton. These workers helped hand out prizes and check the Bingo cards throughout the room.

Up to $1000 was spent on prizes that were handed out during the night. These included Beats by Dre Headphones, a Canon digital camera, tablet, printer, Hamilton Beach Coffee Maker and K-packs, an iTunes gift card, an ottoman, area rug, bathroom set, bed set, desk set and even more prizes. Some of the rewards came in the form a prize set like the movie set, for example, which included a blanket, popcorn and three movies.

Students were only allowed to win up to two prizes before they were cutoff from winning. Junior Justin Meyer reached the two-prize limit by the end of the night.

“[The event] usually has a pretty good turnout,” said Reason. “But thisyear I believe that we exceeded those expectations.” Friday, Sept. 6 will be Lancer Productions’ next event with the Lankford Chill, a night of video games and music videos for anyone interested.
