Artist Jeremy Satterlund Exhibit to Be Shown at Gallery

Farmville’s own J. Fergeson Gallery has brought many a talented artist to town this year. The next artist to be featured will be Jeremy Satterlund, a local Virginian from Richmond who usually works from a studio in Fulton Hill. He received his degree in painting from Pacific Northwest College of Art in his hometown of Portland, Ore.

Satterlund’s specialty lies in paintings that “build up various elements of collage and mixed media.” Through textures and almost dream-like atmospheres, Satterlund has done various styles of work from mechanical diagrams and architectural plans to drawings and notes.

Many of his pieces use strong, vibrant colors, while others have more modest coloring blended together in one image.

As Satterlund describes it, he would like to “say something unexpectedly meaningful and autobiographical.”

Satterlund’s “New Works” pieces will be displayed with the J. Fergeson Gallery from April 2 until April 30 with an opening reception Friday, April 5 from 5-8 p.m.
