Pretty Little Liars Finale: Crazier Than Crazy

Spencer is released from Radley, although she might be more insane after being released from the asylum than she was before being admitted. Shawna is another swimmer and a friend of Emily but she doesn’t sound like good news.

Ezra is offered a job as a substitute at the school again but chooses not to tell Aria. When she hears the news from her father, though, she’s hurt and immediately confronts him about it. Keeping true to their rocky and unstable relationship, they look as if a breakup is on the horizon when Aria tells him that nothing feels right between them since Malcolm. Nothing is definite for them as she walks away.

Jenna becomes suddenly relevant again when she gets a text from A to meet at some address and she meets up with someone at a park, but it’s not a black hooded A. It’s Shawna. Entwining their hands it is clear the two aren’t strangers.

Hanna wants to become Malcolm’s babysitter for ulterior motives and Ezra decides to give her a test run. While babysitting, Hanna flips through photos trying to get him to recognize the “Alison” who kidnapped him and took him to the carnival. It’s unsuccessful until a picture of Spencer and Alison is sent to Hanna’s phone and he instantly recognizes Spencer as “Alison.” Whoa, confusing.

Toby enters a diner to meet with a black hooded member of the A team, Spencer. What’s more shocking? Spencer as a part of the A team or that Toby is alive and well? Toby confesses that everything he has done was to keep Spencer safe and she admits everything she did was just to see him truly alive, which includes her confessing to kidnapping Malcolm as well.

Back in Rosewood, Emily is jogging when she sees Melissa with Jenna and Shawna talking about Spencer’s party. When Hanna tells Aria and Emily who the kidnapper was, the only accurate one is Aria, saying, “This is crazier than crazy… Spencer is part of the A team. Game Over.” Just to be completely sure of where Spencer’s alliance truly lies, the three girls create a plan.

The day of the swim meet Ezra tells Aria that he accepted the job at the high school, and she officially ends their relationship. Their last kiss is enough to break any heart and then she walks away from him for good.

Also at the meet is Spencer who follows the mysterious red coat, walking straight into the trap the girls set up against her. They figured if she doesn’t know “Red Coat’s” identity then she’s on their side and they’re correct. Spencer confesses everything to them in the bathroom and they devise yet another plan.

While “Red Coat” is flying to where Spencer’s party is, Hanna, Aria and Emily hide out until Spencer is dragged away by Toby before they ambush Mona. During it, someone sets the house on fire and in the panic Mona admits to not even knowing who ”Red Coat” is herself.

Spencer and Toby wander the woods for a glimpse of “Red Coat” when he gets knocked out and the lighter is tossed next to him. The girls are pulled out of the house by “Red Coat” whose face is finally seen by Hanna, Mona and Spencer. They all swear it was the same person – but there’s no way that person can be alive.

Now all on the same side the five girls make their way back home. As they’re driving they spot Wilden’s car on the street. It has clearly been pulled out of the lake  with the undamaged footage from that fateful night but now there’s extra footage showing a certain sister and friend picking the detective up off the side of the road. Then they all receive one text.

   “You’re mine now. Kisses. –A”
