In addition, the Lancers achieved a record breaking team scoring average of 305. Ranking 84th among 253 collegiate golf teams in Division 1, the team's progress is extremely noticeable.

Players Steinhagan and Witmer both posted collegiate best numbers, while talents Lee, Pierce, and Carter helped provide the team with five top-ten finishes in the team's five event season. In addition, Witmer was able to post the third best 54-hole score in program history and win her first collegiate tournament this past September

Alison Wright closed out her seventh season as the team's Head Coach, and yet again aided in the establishment of the several new individual and team records posted over the past several years. Since the start of her Lancer coaching days, the golf team has ranked 12th among all Division 1 All-Scholar teams with a team GPA of approximately 3.6. The success of the program has been based both on her outstanding golfing experience, dedication and fundraising efforts.

The Longwood women's golf team finished in the top-ten in three tournaments to close out their 2011-2012 season. A strong finish, the Longwood women's golf team will now wait until May for a chance to play in NCAA regional matches.
