Three adult males were arrested last week in connection to a home break in at 110 Appomattox Street in Farmville. According to Farmville Police Chief Doug Mooney, authorities responded to a brick residential building the morning of Saturday, Nov. 5 in reference to a break in and theft of property. Mooney said the break in occurred around 1:15 a.m. that same morning.
Three males were arrested: Alexander C. Frost, 21 of Farmville; Tucker B. Boggs, 19, of Onancock, Va.; and John T. Difiglo, 25, of Midlothian, Va. Frost and Boggs are both charged with felony charges under State Code 18.2-91. Boggs, a current Longwood University student, is charged with entering and committing a larceny while Frost is charged with breaking and entering. Court dates are scheduled for November and December. Difiglo is a former Longwood student.
Mooney said "electronics" were taken from the home. One person was inside at the time of the incident and fled the scene when the males gained entry. Mooney said it appears the incident may have stemmed from an earlier altercation between the parties. He said the resident contacted the police once they found items were missing. Most of the property was obtained and turned back over to the resident.
"Keep your eyes open for yourself and your neighbors," Mooney said during a phone interview with The Rotunda. "When something happens, report it immediately." He urges residents to keep doors locked and always contact authorities when something like this incident occurs. "You have to realize things like this do happen in a neighborhood," added Mooney. "So be sure to keep a close eye on what is happening around you."
