The Longwood men's golf team finished tied for 11th yesterday at the OBX Collegiate Invitational hosted by Old Dominion University. The team shot a final round 296 for a combined 54-hole score of 893 (298-299-296). Eighteen teams competed in the tournament that was won by the University of Georgia Bulldogs. Ninety golfers competed in the event. The tournament was held at Kilmarlic Golf Club in Powells Point, N.C. Here's how the Lancers fared in the event:
Senior Ross Sumner: 72-76-70—218,t-20th
Sophomore Dylan Jensen: 77-72-75—224, t-44th
Senior Kenny Leech: 75-75-75—225, t-48th
Senior Austin Gray: 75-76-76—227, t-55th
Freshman Blake Carter: 76-83-79—238, t-80th
The ODU event was the last tournament for men's golf this fall. They pick up competition again early in 2012.
