Throughout childhood, picking Halloween costumes was easy. Just choose the popular cartoon character or one of the staple costumes (i.e., ghost, Dracula, Frankenstein, etc.). College students on the other hand have a much harder time choosing a costume for the most part. College-style Halloween costumes have to be clever, funny or sexy to stand out.
Choosing a costume that fits into one of these categories can be hard, so hard in fact that maybe procrastination has taken hold and "that college student" puts off choosing a great costume until the week of Halloween. Then maybe all the "great costumes" in Wal-Mart are gone. Then maybe "that college student" curses Halloween and vows to just go as a "college student." Then "that college student" realizes that they will look silly without a costume when everyone else has one.
Therein lies the dilemma: finding a last minute costume idea. The Internet is amazing. People can communicate across the globe in seconds. Facts and statistics about anything can be found with the click of a button. Opinions and beliefs can be broadcast from the comfort of home. It can also assist in finding last-minute Halloween costume ideas. There are many Web sites on the Internet that can help "that college student" in doing this. For those who are still too lazy to find costume ideas for themselves here is a list of ideas that can even be put off until the 31st before beginning to construct:-Buy a toy airplane and carry it. You are now an aircraft carrier.
-Get a small weight (e.g. dumbbell) and stare at it intently. You are now watching your weight.
-Put a pillow inside your shirt. You are now pregnant.
-Carry some paper with you and when people ask what you are; tear some of the paper up. You are a paper shredder.
-Wear a T-shirt with a large question mark on it, and then tape some popcorn to it. You are a pop quiz.
-Wear all black and attach some neon poster board to your back. You are now an iPod commercial.
-Wear normal clothes and make a sign that says "nudist on strike." You are now a nudist on strike.
When it's Oct. 29 and '"hat college student" still doesn't have a costume for Halloween, clearly they don't take the holiday that seriously and simply enjoy taking part in the atmosphere associated with it. This is not necessarily a bad thing; it just means that a costume must be made quick and easily. No contests will be won, but the words "What a great costume" from others can still be achieved by simple costumes so "that college student" shouldn't worry.
