Over 100 Students, Faculty and Staff Volunteered for the 2009 MLK Service Challenge

While many students used Monday's Martin Luther King Day holiday to sleep in, almost 100 Longwood students, faculty and staff braved the cold to participate in the second MLK Service Challenge. Longwood 32 Protest to Close Gun-Show Loophole

On a bright, mild day in April 2007, a gunman walked across the Virginia Tech campus and killed 32 people before killing himself. He purchased the guns used for the shootings at a gun show. On a cold, gray day in January 2009, a group of 16 Longwood students traveled to Richmond to try to prevent something like the VT shootings from happening again. (5) comments

Trivia Night on the Move to the Mad Hatter

Beginning Jan. 27th Trivia Night sponsored by WMLU will have a new location

Starting Tuesday, January 27, WMLU's famous Trivia Night will be moving to the Mad Hatter, located at 208 N. South St. behind Macado's. The weekly gatherings have been held for five years, since 2004. According to senior Jordan Maynard, WMLU remotes director, Trivia Night has changed venues from Wing Shak to the Mad Hatter this semester. (2) comments
