After reading Tim Holmes' article regarding Oktoberfest and Cameron Patterson and John Hagan's letters to the paper, I agree with them that the article was very inappropriate and very distasteful. Our newspaper is supported and funded not to ridicule and be critical of Longwood's great traditions, but to report on campus news in a fair and unbiased way. (2) comments

The Numbers are Enormous. Even Scary.

$2.4 billion or more in campaign spending combined between both candidates, $105 million in the first two weeks of October by Sen. Barack Obama's campaign and an average of $1.5 million a day being spent by Sen. John McCain's campaign. Our political candidates, battling for time to spread their own message on how they will help the everyday American, are both dealing with amounts of money in their campaigns that few of those people ever dream of.
